Through our GLO outreach plans we can reach people where they are. We go out to meet people in addition to hosting events within their localized community. Talking to residents one on one we listen to their needs and desires while showing them that we care what they have to say. Filling out surveys with folks creates a connection between the youth and their neighbors. The ambassadors bring their unique approach to this process because of their commonality and enthusiasm for engagement. Having received our informal and survey data, the design team can create an environment that encourages ownership and pride for a broader segment of the population.
Stakeholder Analysis
Stakeholders are put into three categories:
- High Targeted Outreach
- Low Outreach – Regular high level updates
- Moderate Level Outreach – Non customized outreach via various methods
Low
Stakeholders in this category should not be mistaken for being unimportant. They include key partners such as our design team, engineering team, clients, and other professional organizations we collaborate with. They are categorized as “low” not due to their significance, but because they are not the general public. We need to communicate differently with the public compared to our internal partners. Stakeholders in this category receive updates via our media channels, website, or newsletters. In addition, we are often communicating directly with these organizations throughout the length of the project.

Moderate
Stakeholders in this category typically include community organizations. After a thorough project review, we identify groups that might have an interest in our work. For instance, the South Platte River project involves various recreational activities, so running groups, river surfers, and cyclists may be particularly interested. While these stakeholders are part of the general public, we engage with them through targeted efforts such as direct outreach, door-to-door visits, and social media. Our approach for this group mirrors the strategies used for “targeted” outreach but often focuses on collective engagement and collaboration with community organizations.
Targeted
Stakeholders in this category encompass the general public, with a particular focus on traditionally underrepresented groups within the community. At GLO, our core mission is to ensure that every voice is heard. Our ambassadors play a crucial role in identifying which community groups may feel excluded or underrepresented, offering valuable insights to address these gaps. Additionally, the groups within this category are identified based on comprehensive demographic research. Outreach strategies for this group often include both going to and hosting events, door to door, and targeted social media efforts.
